A day trip to Clovelly promises cobblestones, cottages and cliffs not to mention an intensive thigh and bum workout!
Clinging to the sides of a 400-foot cleft in the cliff face, Clovelly is a beautiful reminder of a time gone by.
The private village has been carefully cared for and it’s mid nineteenth century charm preserved. It's steeply sloping streets are closed to vehicles, with Donkeys traditionally being used to transport heavier goods up and down the cobbled streets.
The visitors centre a the top of the cliff has a cafe and gift shop but you are best advised to venture down into the village for your nourishment as you'll need the energy for the hike back up!
For the not so athletic amongst us there is a Landrover service available.
