Perched halfway up the rambling cliffs above Summerleaze Beach, Life's A Beach restaurant certainly doesn't lack lovely views!
My girlfriend and I decided to stop there for some lunch on our way back to town. Even though it was obviously extremely busy (odd, as I'd thought we'd just left the main Summer season behind - it appeared not!) the staff were extremely amiable and welcoming. We sat down on some benches that overlooked the sea.
For lunch, my girlfriend went for the Greek Salad. As I have a bit of a taste for Tex-Mex food, I picked the Chilli beef Nachos. Both dishes were received in astonishingly quick time and yet it was obvious from the freshness of both that nothing had been untowardly rushed or prepared in advance.
My girlfriends salad was delicious - olives, pine-nuts, feta cheese.. it was chock full of delicious ingredients, and soaked in a gorgeous oily dressing. My plate of nachos was utterly enormous - I'll admit I was not able to finish them even though I had beforehand considered myself famished. The guacamole was perfect - full of citrus flavours and obviously freshly blended, and the Chilli beef, which is optional, proved a valuable addition. For the price (equivalent to any gastro pub menu) it was absolutely spot on, and I'll be returning as often as I can.
